The lesson I carried forward was that gratitude should never become permanent permission for someone to cross your boundaries. Protecting what matters requires clear agreements, honest questions, and enough self control to seek justice without creating fresh harm.
Someone else’s betrayal does not remove your responsibility for your own actions. Admitting your mistakes does not remove your right to demand accountability from them.
