The Dining Room Looked Like a Struggle Had Happened

A chair was overturned.

A small table had been pushed several feet from its normal position.

One lamp lay on the floor.

A mug had shattered near the kitchen.

A woman’s shoe was lying in the hallway.

But there was no blood.

No visible injury.

And no person.

Officer Mills checked the bedroom.

Empty.

Bathroom.

Empty.

Closets.

Empty.

Natalie was gone.

Then They Found Her Phone

Her phone was beneath the kitchen table.

The screen was cracked.

The 911 call was still visible in the recent call log.

Nearby was a broken necklace.

One officer looked at the other.

“This happened fast.”

The second officer answered:

“Then where did they go?”

That was the first major problem.

The front door had remained locked.

The driveway was empty.

Natalie’s car was still parked in the garage.

And according to the doorbell camera:

Nobody had left through the front.
