Michael Asked Vanessa to Leave the Room
She looked shocked.
“This is my bridal suite.”
“I need five minutes with my daughter.”
Vanessa stared at him.
Then walked out.
The bridesmaids followed.
Michael sat beside Olivia.
“Are you okay?”
She nodded.
“Is the necklace okay?”
“Yes.”
He looked relieved.
Then Olivia asked:
“Should I just take it off?”
Michael looked at her.
“No.”
“You sure?”
“Yes.”
“But it’s her wedding.”
Michael thought about that.
Then answered:
“And you’re my daughter.”
Olivia looked down.
That wasn’t quite the answer she needed.
She said:
“I don’t want this to turn into you choosing me over her.”
Michael nodded.
“Neither do I.”
Then Olivia Surprised Him
She took the necklace off.
Michael frowned.
“What are you doing?”
“I’m not letting this ruin your wedding.”
He shook his head.
“No.”
“Dad.”
“You shouldn’t have to remove something meaningful because somebody pressured you.”
Olivia replied:
“And she shouldn’t spend her wedding staring at my neck thinking about Mom.”
Michael said nothing.
Olivia placed the necklace in a small velvet box.
Then she said:
“But she owes me an apology.”
Michael nodded.
“Absolutely.”
