Megan Said It Was About the Album

Megan followed Daniel inside.

“Please don’t make this into something huge.”

Daniel turned around.

“My daughter just asked whether she’s part of our family.”

“She is.”

“Then why are you removing her from the photos?”

“I am not removing her.”

“You literally told her to leave.”

“For a few pictures!”

Daniel stared at Megan.

Then she explained what she had actually planned.

She wanted the main wedding album to begin with photographs of herself and Daniel.

Then photographs with their parents.

Then someday, if she and Daniel had children together, she imagined displaying those wedding photos in their home as “the beginning of their family.”

Daniel stopped her.

“The beginning?”

Megan knew immediately that she’d said the wrong thing.

“That’s not what I meant.”

Daniel shook his head.

“Lily existed before you met me.”

“I know that.”

“So there is no version of my family that starts today.”
